Have you ever scrolled through Instagram and felt better about yourself? No? Me either. But when I looked at my Instagram and my stories I felt blessed. Why? Because I realized that even though I recorded a few snapshots of my good times, I have enjoyed the moment at that time and have created memories. I tend to get so caught up in my everyday chaos and in my next move that I forget to take a moment and reflect what I’ve been through and all that I have done to be here today. As I go through my Instagram stories and posts I can’t help but remember the times amazing times where I was in a different country/place trying a new thing. There is one quote that exactly explains what I feel when I am out of my everyday routine making new memories:

“You must go on adventures to find out where you truly belong.” -Sue Fitzmaurice

When looking back and reflecting, this quote speaks to who I am at my core. I feel at my best and most authentic self when I’m on an adventure. Whether it is in Mexico on zip lines and repealing off waterfalls or climbing the volcanos of El Salvador and eating the most amazing food or when I’m simply at home going to a football game and the theme parks. Regardless, I always think that I don’t have stories worth telling but I realized that they are my stories and I don’t have to tell them for them to have worth. I just have to remember that they are worth it because they help shape me into who I am and who I want to be. I’ll leave you with one more quote to wrap everything up:

“Travel far enough, you’ll meet yourself.” -David Mitchell

To me it seems the further I go, the more I know myself and the more I realized I am living, not just breathing. How about you? Are you taking adventures to meet yourself?
